Trek leader Robert Frost a 6th Degree Taekwondo Master has been visiting Papua New Guinea since the early '80's, sometimes to teach Taekwondo or on business relating to the security industry or sometimes just for a holiday. Robert first trekkked Kokoda in 1996 with Charlie Lynn then after several more treks started leading small private groups across the track. Robert is a skilled bushman and expert horseman who grew up around the Wattagan Mountains west of Lake Macquarie in New South Wales. After finishing his apprenticeship as a butcher Robert spent several years working around the cattle camps on stations in the Gulf of Carpenteria and travelling extensively around Northern Australia. For the next 30 years Robert divided his time between his farm in the Lower Hunter Valley, running a theatre company and building a chain of martial arts schools. After selling the farm Robert built 2 cinema comlexes in the Hunter Valley and established an advertising production company. The five years have seen more and more frequent trips to PNG and a close relationship develop between Robert, his friend and business partner Colin Obed and the people of the Kokoda Track. Robert has completed 14 Kokoda treks.
